There are many different types of rolling element bearings. The key in determining a bearing type is the style of the rolling element itself. Roller bearings will have a line contact area between rollers and rings and will provide heavier load capacities compared to a point contact ball. However , the point contact ball will generate less rolling friction than a roller element bearing, making it better suited for higher operating speeds.
